David Heiden Joins W Financial as a Partner

David Heiden Joins W FinancialW Financial founders Gregg Winter and Marc Bailin are pleased to announce that commercial real estate direct lending veteran David Heiden has joined W Financial as a Partner. David was a senior vice president at BRT Realty Trust, a New York-based, publicly traded mortgage REIT. David sourced, structured, underwrote and appraised hundreds of bridge loans during his nine-year tenure.

David’s presence will significantly deepen the bench at W Financial, speed the screening and selection of new loan opportunities, and help to propel the continued growth of the Fund. As he has done for 9 years, David will continue to interface with brokers and borrowers identifying and negotiating new loan opportunities. David will also be spearheading the Fund’s efforts to recruit and train additional analysts and underwriters. Winter and Heiden first became acquainted during David’s days as a loan officer at Bankers Federal Savings Bank, where they closed several transactions together in 1996.

David Heiden can be reached at 212-684-2283 ext. 114 or at david@w-financial.com. His bio and other information are available at www.w-fund.com/heiden.

W Financial was launched in July 2003 and has an open structure permitting new investors to enter the Fund as new loans close. David will also join Gregg as they launch W Financial II, a $250 million hedge fund which will be optimized for institutional investors. W Financial focuses on first mortgage bridge loans and makes second mortgage and mezzanine loans on a highly selective basis. The Fund is interested in deals nationwide, with a primary emphasis on the Northeastern US.

W Financial (www.w-fund.com) focuses on loan opportunities with strong sponsorship, compelling location and some combination of other factors making a potential loan feasible. These factors may include long ownership of property or low cost of acquisition, unique demand drivers, compelling track record of sponsor in executing the project’s business plan, etc. The Fund specializes in rapidly analyzing new loan opportunities, reaching an agreement with the borrower, and closing the loans within a short time frame.
